Minecraft
Switching server version or type
You can change Minecraft version or switch between Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge, Vanilla and Bedrock at any time. Your files stay on the server.
Before you switch
- Take a backup (Backups tab). Downgrading versions can corrupt worlds.
- Plugins ≠ mods: switching Paper → Forge means your plugins stop working, and vice versa.
How to switch
- Panel → your server → Startup tab — change the version variable (e.g.
MINECRAFT VERSION) and/or - Ask us (or use the egg changer if shown) to switch the server egg to the new type.
- Settings → Reinstall server. Reinstalling replaces the server jar but keeps your world and configs.
- Start the server and watch the console for the first boot — it may upgrade world data, which takes a few minutes on big worlds.
Bedrock ↔ Java
These are different games with incompatible worlds. To let Bedrock players join a Java server instead, look at GeyserMC (install as a Paper plugin).
